Job Opening Lecturer/Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor (Level B/C/D) in Sociology Department of Anthropology and Sociology The University of Queensland, Brisbane, Australia The Department of Anthropology and Sociology of the University of Queensland in Brisbane, Australia, has a wide range of teaching interests within the field of Sociology. It has established itself as one of the leading centres for postgraduate training in sociology within Australia, and has a strong commitment to empirical social research, qualitative and quantitative, pure and applied. The Department is seeking applications for up to 4 positions at Lecturer/Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor level (B/C/D). At least one of the positions will be in the sociology of law and criminal justice. The other appointments will be made to cover the range of teaching and research needs in the Department across all fields of sociological theory and applied sociology. Applicants with the ability to teach research methods and data analysis are particularly encouraged to apply. Applicants should posses a PhD in Sociology or its equivalent, plus demonstrated experience in teaching, research and postgraduate supervision. Appointment at Senior Lecturer level or above will require extensive teaching experience, a strong publication and grants record, and a demonstrated record of leadership in one ore more related research areas. It is envisaged that appointees would take up duties on 1 January 2000. There are up to four (4) full-time continuing appointments at Lecturer (Level B), Senior Lecturer (Level C), or Associate Professor (Level D). Salary will be within the range Lecturer (Level B) A$48,327-$57,388 per annum, Senior Lecturer (Level C) A$59,201-$68262 per annum, or Associate Professor (Level D) A$71282-$78,531 per annum, plus employer superannuation contributions of 17%.
