MWS and African democratization?

Hi all,

I am new to this list and have been reading messages for a few weeks.  I am
also new to the study of the Modern World-System and wonder if a request for
some references would be ok?

Does anyone have knowledge of some (recent) literature dealing with
democratic transitions and consolidation from a MWS perspective in
(southern) Africa?  If so it would be great if you could post it here!
