Faculty Positions

The Division of Social Science invites applications for the following 2
tenure-track positions in Hong Kong studies at the Assistant Professor /
beginning Associate Professor level.

Applicants should have a PhD degree in a social science discipline. He/She
should specialize in one or more of the following areas in Hong Kong
studies:  politics and democratization, society and culture, political
economy, gender, psychology, geography, and environment.  Candidates who
work interdisciplinarily and collaboratively, and who have developed
extensive ties with Hong Kong community, government, and business are
desirable.  Duties include teaching, pursuing active research, and
contributing to the development of a vigorous graduate program.  For
appointment at the Associate Professor level, candidates should have a
strong record of publication and teaching. 

Starting rank and salary will depend on qualifications and experience. 
Fringe benefits including medical and dental benefits, annual leave,
children's local educational allowance and assistance in housing will be
provided where applicable. Initial appointment will normally be on a
three-year contract.  A gratuity will be payable upon successful
completion of contract.
