Government verses Business verses people

I am interested in understanding the dynamic between government and business in our globalising economy.  For instance:

 

Is a globalised organisation dependent on government or are governments beholden to the globalised business(s)?

 

Has government power been reduced by the development of the internet and virtualized company.

 

How could governments respond to the erosion of Nation state authority, (specifically taxation and property laws) because of globalised ecommerce based organisations?
