Re: a suggestion

List,
Today, I characterized as inaccurate and an exaggeration a post that
claimed WSN averaged 25-50 posts daily on a regular basis.
I received a rude private communication that said that this daily average
of 25-50 posts was indeed correct.
I looked over the archives and found that for the months of January and
February WSN averaged 2-3 posts daily, in March averaged 4-5 posts daily.
Obviously, the claim of 25-50 posts daily was an exaggeration.
I wrote back to this individual providing the data. I did so because facts
are important. I am kind. And I believe that people should not attack
other people based on fiction.
I have just received another private communication from this person
accusing me of being one of those individuals who posts multiple posts
daily. The person wrote, "You are one of the few who post and post and
post. I don't read your postings because they are so numerous."
This is a remarkable statement given the fact that I have posted only four
posts in 1999. It is now April. Her comments are even more remarkable
given the fact that in the last three months of 1998, I only posted four
posts. Eight posts in over six months is hardly an avalanche of posts.
After simply making up her facts, this individual insulted me for using
the word "crap" in my public post to WSN this morning, and then threated
me that if I ever write a post to her again (I only wrote her one post
providing the facts about the volume of posts to the list), she would
forward the post to the moderator and accuse me of harassment.
I thought it was appropriate to make this matter public before the
situation escalated further. Obviously this person is aiming to make
trouble. I have had these sorts of private communications attacking me
before, and I want to avoid the trouble that person caused me then.
Respecfully,
Andy
