gernot,
what is very interested (and very subtle, sophisticated theory) in this
field, is the (neo-)gramscian line of thouhgt which discernes hegemonys and
counter hegemonies. a hegemony is a complete construction of structure, i.e.
society, politics and production. counter-hegemonies have arisen and are a
deeper phenomenon than mere 'opposition'. You could state for example that
the 3rd world movement was a counterhegemonic one.
you could read cox, amineh, or gramsci himself on these topics.
