A few months ago, I suggested that at least one session on the Internet etc.
be included in the program for next years ASA meeting. Today, I received a
reply that a session was inappropriate because the topic had been included
in several professional workshops.
I'm curious to know how others feel about this. It is my belief that one
and maybe several sessions on the Internet are warranted and the decision
not to have a session was primarily made on political grounds (given that
the Internet seems to be one of the few arenas of dissent).
