More on provocative thoughts.

I rather tend to agree with the idea that the destruction is more of a symbolic degradation and in  revenge to yes the Arabs and the Third World in general.... for having what is lacking within the aggressor.

This is the cohesion and unity  based on culture and and faith that surpasses the one practised by the agressor. I assume that one of the reasons Islam is such a thorn is that it brings together a people ascribing to it much more strongly than America is comfortable with.

The same with the third world that despite all the suffering visited upon them as a people, they are not cowed by the power of capitalism and its glamorous rewards just the same as the glamourous neatly packaged religions fail to impress and wow.

Therefore failure to wow is replaced by awe which produces the kind of wonder the aggressor expects as a matter of right.

However where the whole plan will go awry is when the Iraqi's who were happy to be relieved of Saddam fail to  go down on their knees in worship of the great power/liberator.

Then a parting of ways will have to be considered and they will be cowed by more force probably greater than that used on Saddam. The war this time will not be against the Iraqi's alone but the Arab world whom the Iraqi's are only representative.

Nice scenario for the war against Iraq to progress in.
