in response to: e. ahmet tonak 01 February 2003, you wrote: You may find a rigorous economic critique of "Comparative Advantage" from Marxian point of view in the homepage of my co-author Anwar Shaikh. If you follow the link below you may find other related papers on international trade, capital flows, exchange rate determination, etc. Enjoy them. http://homepage.newschool.edu/%7EAShaikh/papers.html -------------------- I find the work by Shaikh, Tonak and collaborators on this subject very impressive and important. Here is a question: Shaikh does not seem to think much of the concept of unequal exchange a la Emmanuel. Is that impression correct? My reasons for thinking so are (1) I have not found a single article by Shaikh on unequal exchange; (2) unequal exchange theory could interfere with the internationalized value theory of labour of the Shaikh-Tonak gang and may not be of interest to them (you) for that reason. Can someone please comment? By the way, thanks to Sherman and Stremlin for answering another query of mine on Wallerstein - very interesting comments, indeed. Gert
