It certainly should be the case that in the age of the internet, no book is out 
of print or inaccessible.  Hopefully this 'should' will be an 'is' soon.

In terms of a book introducing undergraduates to ideas of imperialism and 
resistance, maybe consider 'Open Veins of Latin America' or the Memory of Fire 
trilogy, both by Eduardo Galeano.  They lack the global scope, but the themes 
are all there, and they are written with passion, which makes them easier to 
understand than more academic-style texts.
