According to economist Lester Thurow, there are three distinct capitalisms in the present world, rather than a single one - namely, communal capitalism (Japan and tigers), American capitalism, and Rhenish capitalism (continental Europe). Taking into consideration more recent developments in China, one might add a fourth type of capitalism, which is a hybrid of Capitalism and Chinese Communism - the Chinese Capitalist-Communist Mode of Production, or CCCP. (This is very dynamic, more dynamic than geriatric European capitalism and 180 degrees opposite to Marx's (racist) view of the passive, stagnating Asiatic mode of production.)
