I agree about K's. Peter Grimes devoted 10 years full time to looking for
them- with new measures he devised - and came up short, but said he still
believed in them..

but the test proceedure Mike [proposes is one that Gills and  I =Frank
used in our chapter 5 of WORLD SYSTEM 500 yrs or 5000?
and I in my Bronze Age World system Cyclkes in CURRENT ANTHROPOLOGY
Aug-Oct 1993. there in fact I sasy specifically wht Mike
does: Simulatenaety of up/down between here and there is prima facie
evidence that they are in the same bag.
The up/down phase datings that we and thebn I proposed - inductively
derived from the evidence - have been tested out by 3 independent research
efforts and substantially confirmed. i have done a bit on revising the
datings with more evidence, and am trying to go b ack to that now.
one accessible tesd was by Andrew Bosworth in the Denemark ed WORLD
SYSTEM HISTORY book, chpt 14. Also see Chs-Dn & Hl book.
