Hello All, Very interesting things are happening in Turkey. About a month ago, a publishing company published a book of Noam Chomsky - American Intervention which includes selected essays of the writer collected from ZNet. What is interesting is a few days ago, State Security Court, a special court only deals with national matters like terrorism etc., judged this book, howewer not only publisher company but also Noam Chomsky himself. Book was arrested and decided to gather from market. Subject of the judgment was a few paragraph in the preface written by company and about a whole page by Chomsky. He talks about the Kurdish people living in Turkey and says the Turkish Government has a genocide policy on these people for years. So he makes divisive behavior according to the court. Arresting of books is very familiar for Turkey, in a lot of case, many books was collected and the writers/publishers were arrested. But this time, no one knows what the government will do about Chomsky. I heard that Chomsky are writing something on this issue.
