Dear Warren,

Nice to hear from you.  You have zeroed in, of course, on
the core central premise on which my solution-synthesis is
based.  Naturally I'm eager to discuss it.   In 2.b, by the
way, I was not attempting to _establish that non-hierarchy
would work, I was simply _introducing the topic for
future discussion, along with a few feasibility anecdotes. 
The next section, "Localism, diversity, and genuine
democracy", is where I engage the topic in earnest.

Tomorrow I will respond to your post in detail, and I very
much appreciate the opportunity to do so.  It is a pleasure
to discuss issues with someone who goes straight to the
heart of the matter.  I suggest that the prospects are neither 
so dim, nor the history so sparse, as you indicate above. Far
from it.
