Dear Patrick and All,

The problem of course is that kicking the bank out of your country is a
local, and hence only partial, therefore nationalist "solution". Based on 
the
history of the last few hundred years of capitalism and nationalism, I fail
to see how "nationalisms in single countries" will coalesce into an 
effective
global system change. Even "socialism in one bloc" failed to do that.

Also, it makes me pause to think of the recent cases of countries that have
managed to keep the IMF et al out really effectively (Albania until 
recently,
North Korea) have been ravaged by famine, precipitously dropping life
expectancy, a social reality that is characterized by the most brutal
invasion of the life world by polity, and a deeply, avowedly undemocratic
leadership holding a grip on the state.
