Andrzej Wajda, for those who haven't heard the name, is the brilliant
director of "Man of Marble", "Man of Iron" and the gorgeously somber,
intricate, and shattering "Ashes and Diamonds" (which can be described as
the Polish "Rebel Without a Cause", "Citizen Kane" and "The Best Years of
Our Lives" all wrapped up into one).
