A final note

A final note from Starlife Friends

Before I sign off, I can just conclude that we weren't talking about the same thing at all. When I got a tip that you were talking "World Party", I entered the talk because I assumed "World" was the main subject, as in world unity. But "World" simply meant "worldwide" promotion of some other goals of no interest to us. Although we naturally do share the goals of improving the situation for people in developing countries, the care for the environment etc, we have little else in common.

Unlike most of you, I am not considering myself to be a marxist or communist or alike. But that's not the point. The point is that we in Starlife are trying to create something new not based on the old ideologies from past centuries. It is our strong belief that the endless struggles between these ideologies, whatever they are called, have caused more pains than pleasures among people. The mere fact that people have been encouraged - or forced - to take side for or against some ideology or system, including its followers, is not any better than two hostile nations standing against each other. This tragic split up in "we" against "them" is a long and ancient tradition on Earth; a tradition kept alive by people and groups like WSN. We feel it's time to stop it.

As a result, we are actively working to heal and unite the world by methods which is more or less the opposite of those encouraged by you. Many among our supporters are trying to reduce the interest in old, outdated ideologies and make people give up their old political identities and different "-isms". Just like we try to reduce the feelings of a strong national identity. The only road to a reasonably happy future goes through a feeling of unity, global citizenship and friendly, non-political interaction beyond all borders of politics, religion, skin color etc.

Yes, you may get some support for your "World Party" among oppressed people in developing countries. But what we and countless of other organizations are aiming at, is a continous improvement of their situation. This is a commitment which comes from our hearts. And the more successful we are, the less people will be motivated to join ideological protest movements, worker's revolutions and the kind of World Party pursued by you. By your approach, you are encouraging splits and hostility among people with different views. With our approach, we are encouraging friendship and harmony on both a local and global scale.

Our proposal for a "World Citizen Party" origined from the fact that these goals do not yet have any political structure of their own. However, it now seems more and more clear that education leading to a change of priorities in our society may be a more important task way than forming political parties. In any case, I hope the more humble and spiritually gifted souls among you, like Emilio in Colombia, will be able to influence the course of your activities - alternatively that they choose other forums for their work.
