of course, i also think that ideology is a ":cultural distortion" rooted in material life circumstances. however, this is a bourgeois ideology, not my ideology. when i said that a party should have an ideology, i meant that we must have a well defined "political standpoint" , "set of values" and PROGRAM OF PRAXIS. thus, i was not necessarily using ideology in a technical sense, nor in a bourgeois pejorative sense (communism is an ideology slogan). i was rather using it in a productive sense-- something that mobilizes people and brings about collective action. thus, i was using it interchangeably with practical value in that specific context of the discussion.
i should frankly admit that my values are largely different from the values offered in this discussion on WP. unfortunately, value can become an ideology too. for example, i find some values emphasized in this thread about what the world party is and should be quite ideological. the discussion on corporations, inevitability of capitalism and exporting US wage system to other countries seemed to me largely ideological values.
these are my concerns in a nutshell. thanks.
