With the recent tussle between the EU and the US over Caribbean and =
Latin American bananas, where the US has ridiculed the EU for granting =
preferential treatment to Caribbean bananas i think this signifies the =
realist theory in international relations with a different face. in =
other words states are still very much realist by the manner in which =
they operate in the international system and other non state actors such =
as the UN and WTO are merely carrying out the domestic interest of =
states such as the US by way of "remote control".
