Dear World System Folks:
I am giving a talk next month in Thailand and have been asked to address
"recent trends in development theory". I have my own views on this topic,
but I am very interested to hear what others believe is the cutting edge
(or recently obsolete, promising, deadends, etc.) in sociological or
political economic theories of development. I would appreciate hearing
from anyone with thoughts on this issue. Unfortunately, I will be in
Toronto for the meetings and may not be able to reply until after I
return. I look forward to hearing from you and would particularly love to
be given some reason to question my own pessimism about the state of the
art.
