Dear WSNers,

Andre Gunder Frank has written comments on the papers given at two
meetings of the American Anthropology Association organized by Nick
Kardulias. These papers have now been published as a special thematic
section of the _Journal of World-Systems Research_ edited by Nick.

Gunder's commentary is entitled "ABUSES AND SOME USES OF WORLD SYSTEM
THEORY IN ARCHAEOLOGY." It is an essay of some 1000 lines reflecting on
the uses of world systems concepts in archaeology and what archaeology
can contribute to the developing world systems perspective. This essay
may be retrieved from the World-Systems Archive. It's location is
csf.colorado.edu/wsystems/papers/frank_ag/abuses

You can access the World-Systems Archive with a Web browser at
http://csf.colorado.edu/wsystems/wsarch.html

Gunder's discussion and the essays in the special section are relevant
for the thread about ancient systems that has been ongoing on wsn.
Perhaps WSNers would like to read Gunder's comments (and the special
thematic section) and discuss them on WSN.
