Comparative Politics/International Political Economy
The Program for International Studies in Asia (PISA), under the sponsorship of
the American Council of Learned Societies, seeks faculty to teach at the
Institute for International Relations in Hanoi, and, as needed, at other
institutions in Vietnam. Faculty are hired for a three and a half month period
each semester and will teach, in English, on a team basis. The course planned
for Fall, 1996 is !International Political Economy! with an emphasis on
processes of globalization, international and regional regimes of trade, finance
and investment, problems of transitional economies and the market-oriented
economies of East and Southeast Asia. In Spring, 1997 !Comparative Politics of
Southeast Asia! will be offered. In addition to a competitive salary, faculty
received a travel grant, a stipend to cover in-country living expenses, and a
budget for teaching materials. applicants should send a letter of interest,
curriculum vitae, evidence of teaching excellence and three letters of

DC 20036. Preliminary interviews will take place at the meetings in April, of
the International Studies Association and the Association for Asian Studies.
