John Gaventa
University of Tennessee. The Department of Sociology invites application
for a tenure track position at the Assistant Professor rank. Preferred
area of specialization is political economy with a special emphasis on
economic analysis of class and gender. Applicants with a well-
established record of research publications or strong potential to develop
one and strong teaching credentials will be given priority. Both
beginning and advanced assistant professors will be considered. A Ph.D.
by September 1995 is required. Salary and benefits are competitive.
Applicants should include a letter presenting teaching and research
interests, a resume, and a list of three persons who may be contacted as
