CALL FOR PAPERS AND SESSIONS
ANNUAL MEETING OF THE MIDWEST SOCIOLOGICAL SOCIETY
Chicago, April 3-6, 1996

I am the World Systems topic organizer for the 1996
Annual MSS meeting. My perception is that MSS has long
been dominated by micro-sociology, but this has been
changing in recent years, and the meetings are becoming
more interesting for those of us interested in bigger
processes, larger structures, and huger comparisons. I
encourage you to consider participating in 1996. Send
me your ideas for sessions, papers, and abstracts
dealing with world-system research and theory. MSS
Program Chair, Anthony Orum, has designated the theme
for these meetings as "the relationship between
sociology and other academic disciplines." While it is
not necessary that all papers and topics adhere to this
theme, I think it provides a good opportunity for many
who are working to understand the world-system (or
other world-systems). Please contact me with your
paper or session ideas before September 1, 1995.
