Unfortunately true. I can see an Israel or Italy scenario where a right winger who doesn't have all that solid support gets reelected by virtue of the disorganization of opposition forces.
Is not Dean being cast in precisely this role? I can't say that I have much sense of just how "progressive" he is, but do you consider his candidacy so unlikely?
