this people just do not seem to understand that the problem inherent to any 
attempt at postmodern imperialsm is not conquest (i.e. mobile cavalaries) but 
occupying, controlling and policing a given territorial space.  In this sense, 
yes, Pax Americana IS like the wild west, as it entails absolute chaos in the 
-occupied- territories (see Iraq)
