Mass arrests of Muslims and racism

I've already come across a number of comments from people questioning why there should be any outcry about the mass arrests of Muslims for alleged immigration violations. "After all", some say, "if they are in violation, then that is the penalty for breaking the law."

 

What these people cannot, or will not recognize is that people not in "compliance" have routinely been given other alternatives rather than simply being handcuffed and carted off to jail, in some cases hundreds of miles from home.......with the government refusing to publish even the numbers of those arrested. Some of these people have appeals in process with the government.

 

But even more obviously, there are hundreds of thousands of Polish, Greek, Russian, Irish, Ukrainian and other European immigrants in this country without current documentation.  They were not targeted. Muslims were targeted.   That is racist oppression, pure and simple.
