This question may sound strange; but if we look at the gamut of human literary and intellectual history we have everything from Shakespeare, to Greek Tragedy, to Dante, and so on [and admittedly this is even only from the West, there's a bunch of material even from pre-modern Asia, Africa, and the Americas relying on oral and then somewhat written tradition]; who are the literary paragons of the eonic model and what brands of literary and poetic expression best capture in your view the driving thrust of the eonic effect?>
John Landon wrote:If you look at my previous post you will see the obvious connection to the figures of higher culture filtered out in mechanical analysis. Homer appears almost on schedule in the 'eonic sequence', as the Greek Archaic starts to take off. So we have, in general, a host of figures associated with these transitions, especially in the Greek, Israelite, Indian, Chinese band. Do we see why the Greek philosophers, Israelite prophets, the Indian Buddhas of the time of Gautama, and Confucius, etc, are all appearing at the same time?

Yes, I do see how such persons figure in the pattern of the model. No confusion or question about that. And, I suppose if we were to come up with a list of such figures for all of world history, we’d have a list of “heroes.” … That’s not exactly what my question is getting at.
Of all these personages, which best typify the character and expression (the themes and patterns) of the Eonic Effect (as it operates in world history)? Is there a specific type of literary genre or expression that best captures the animus of the Eonic Effect in your view? What about in regard to music?
Big questions I admit and maybe they’re very strange ones to ask. But it might help to get a better grasp of the model if we can metaphorically frame its dynamics in terms of other knowledge maps such as literary/poetic genres or musical themes.
Any insights on these questions? …
Best!
