This definitely what I don't believe! This would put me in the camp of modern neomalthusian ricardians, where I am not. It is not oil which is the issue, but the political economy of oil. There is no shortage of oil in nature, and there is not even a shortage of oil qua commodity, and never will be IMO. As for your utopian visions, the more the merrier say I. However, the practicalities you mention, which we have to deal with, also include: an unelected president; the creation of special military tribunals reviewing evidence based on forced confessions and issuing death sentences; not to speak of the B-52's. How do you plan to deal with all that? Mark
