This definitely what I don't believe! This would put me in the camp of 
modern neomalthusian ricardians, where I am not. It is not oil which is the 
issue, but the political economy of oil. There is no shortage of oil in 
nature, and there is not even a shortage of oil qua commodity, and never 
will be IMO.

As for your utopian visions, the more the merrier say I. However, the 
practicalities you mention, which we have to deal with, also include: an 
unelected president; the creation of special military tribunals reviewing 
evidence based on forced confessions and issuing death sentences; not to 
speak of the B-52's. How do you plan to deal with all that?
