Bonn agreement isolates US

The aftermath of Genoa should not conceal the fact that Europe has perhaps 
finally found a topic on which it can agree and impose its views on the 
rest of the world.

Were this the case it would be particularly appropriate that this new 
autonomy, largely brokered by Belgians and Swedes, should take shape in 
Bonn, former capital city and symbolic of West Germany's longstanding 
obedience to US interests. Also appropriate that this unexpected union 
should crystallise around the environment, a truly global issue.
