removing viruses

I've seen several virus alerts since joining WSN, and thought members might be interested in an online service called "PC-Cillian" that scans your computer for free, and removes virus files while you're connected to the internet.

I came across the site when looking for a way to get rid of the VBS virus several months ago.  My updated McAffee and Norton Virus software didn't find all of the files (this virus especially attacks image and sound files on your computer), so the virus kept resurfacing ... but this site removed it.

As an aside: it's interesting that so many computer viruses surface on a discussion list on World Systems Theory - perhaps, due to the topics of discussion/interest, subscribers are more likely to step on 'virtual land mines' ... you think?

Best,
Angela
