Applications are invited for the following posts tenable from 1st August, 2001: 
Junior/College Lectureship in Economics 
The Department of Economics wishes to invite applications for the above 
permanent, full time 
post. The appointee is expected to contribute to the general teaching of the 
Department, 
including an undergraduate programme in Public and Social Policy and a graduate 
programme 
in Economic Policy Evaluation and Planning. He/she will also contribute to the 
research activity 
of the Department through linking into existing projects and/or developing new 
lines of 
research. Although applications are invited from all areas of the discipline, 
the Department 
would like, in particular, to attract candidates who have good quantitative 
skills, including 
survey techniques and data handling skills, and whose teaching and research 
interests include 
one or more of the following: Environmental and Natural Resource Economics, 
Rural and 
Regional Development and Cost-Benefit Analysis. A good knowledge of EU Policy 
and 
practice in these areas is considered desirable. 
Applicants should have a postgraduate degree in economics (a Ph.D. is 
considered desirable), 
have good communication skills and demonstrated teaching and research capacity. 
Closing date for receipt of applications is Friday, 2nd March, 2001.
