Some diplomatic circles claim that:
"Israel is ready to give up 95% of West Bank"

Let us put the record right....

Area of The West Bank & Gaza Strip as a percentage of the total area of
Palestine (during The British Mandate)
             22% 

DEDUCT area of "Metropolitan Jerusalem"
            [45% of 22%]
             9.9% 

NET area of West Bank & Gaza Strip  (as a percentage of the total area of
Palestine (during The British Mandate) [excluding Al-Quds Al-Shariff]
             12.1% 

DEDUCT Areas described as "Natural Reserves" 
3.8% 

 Net area being talked about (as a percentage of the total area of
 Palestine under the British Mandate (i.e. as on May 14, 1948).

 8.3% 


Any percentage discussed should be
calculated out of a base of 8.3% !
