departing - for Louis

by Tausch, Arno

Half a century of life taught me that one has to depart in peace, so let me
nevertheless extend to you my best wishes. If you are interested, for that
matter, in the book projects of NOVA Science, please have a look at the
Catalogue. Since we share the conviction, that Turbo capitalism should not
be the last social order on this tormented globe, you will note with
interest perhaps their excellent books on such issues as the Kosovo war etc.
Over the years they have emerged as one of the possible publishers of good
and serious world system research and critical social science in general.
Their openness to the cultures of East Central Europe and the former USSR,
especially, stands in stark contrast to the Huntingtonian view of the world
prevalent in much of America, and let us not depart from each other in wrath
over the presentation of a curriculum vitae of a friend, who, after all,
shares your and my reservations about the prevailing global (dis)order

Decent academic behaviour? You got the wrong guy. Frankly, I was
about to
unsub from this list this morning anyhow because there seems to be
nobody
posting to it except professors and people working on PhD's. So
long,
        everybody.
