Zimbabwe

The situation is such in Zimbabwe that it cannot be said that the UDC is a
politically "better" party than Mugabe's ZANU-PF. Essentially both parties
represent the interests of imperialism. The only difference is that both
parties seek to represent the class interests of the bourgeoisie in
different ways. The war of independence is long gone, the Soviet Union has
collapsed and the masses in Zimbabwe have left behind them
their anti-imperialist militancy.Consequently the imperialist bourgeoisie no
longer needs the services of Mugabe and his party. In the epoch of, what is
called globalism, finance
capitalism has no longer any need for a party like Mugabe's which contained
the
masses in their opposition to imperialism. Instead they now want a party
in power
that more directly supports imperialism by introducing increased
liberalisation to the Zimbabwe economy. They don't want a party such as
Mugabe's that is based on providing the masses with more sops in the form of
welfare etc. In short imperialism wants placed in power a party that comes
down
even harder on the masses in order all the more to serve the class
interests of imperialism. It wants this because the masses in Zimbabwe are
more passive now and can be more readily oppressed intensively in the
interests of imperialism.

The concern of the Western bourgeoisie over conditions in Zimbabwe has
nothing to do with the
anti-democratic acts of Mugabe. It is to do with the plain fact that
they no longer want nor need to have him in power. He knows this which is
why he is
threatening the bourgeoisie's class interests by encouraging forced
redistribution of land and threatening to nationalise the mineral resources.
He is using these latter matters as a means to blackmail the imperialist
bourgeoisie. The issue of formal democracy is merely an ideological device
in
the pursuit of this aim. There is a military dictatorship in Pakistan and
yet Western imperialism has not sought to whip up opposition to it in the
way they have against ZANU-PF.

Western imperialism is exploiting the growing disenchantment with Mugabe as
an
opportunity to pursue its hidden agenda which is essentially
anti-democratic. American imperialism has done the same thing with regard
the Mexican presidential elections

Comradely regards
George
