Dear Colleagues,

We are soliciting articles for the second issue of the Golden Gate
University International Relations Journal. You can access the first
issue of the journal at: internet.ggu.edu/irj/index.html. It includes
five thought-provoking articles on morality and International Relations
by Peter Bowman, Kenneth G. Lawson, Ronnie Lipschutz, David Waldman,
and Lisa Simmons.

The second issue of the journal has a new set of editors who are
current graduate students in the IR program at GGU. This second issue
will focus on women and International Relations. Please submit
articles relevent to the question discussed below. The articles should
be on Microsoft Word, 5,000 words or less, and with documenation and
notes at the end of the article. Deadline for submissions is August 1,
1999.

ISSUE: Historically, the abuse of women's civil, political, and
religious rights seems to be a phenomenon that is universal,
transcending particular cultural and societal dictates. We wish to
examine this issue further and would like articles addressing the
question:

IS THE EXPLOITATION AND ABUSE OF WOMEN'S RIGHTS A CULTURAL OR UNIVERSAL
PHENOMENON?
