"Sociological Abstracts" announces The Leo P. Chall Dissertation
Fellowship in the History of Sociology
The Leo P. Chall Fellowship is open to Ph.D. candidates who are
writing a dissertation that is intended as a contribution to the
history of sociology. This $ 5,000 fellowship will be awarded in
January 2000.
Applicants are requests to submit the following information:
1. A limited precis (3 pages, single-spaced) of the dissertation
proposal, which includes:
a) A description of the project.
b) An explanation of how the research will contribute to the field.
c) A description of the work completed to date
2. Plans for completing the dissertation
3. Two letters of recommendation
4. A complete academic c.v., including exam results and grade
transcripts where available.
5. A listing of current or previous awards or fellowships and publications.
The deadline is 1 September 1999.
