Dear Colleagues,

We would like to take this opportunity to introduce a new,
interdisciplinary doctoral program offered by the "Forschungsverbund
Politik-Recht-Philosophie (PRP)" (Research network
Politics-Law-Philosophy)at the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universit=E4t, in
Munich, Germany.

PRP is the result of efforts by Professors Friedrich Kratochwil
(Political Science), Bruno Simma (International Law), and Wilhelm
Vossenkuhl (Philosophy), to promote interdisciplinary research on
contemporary issues of global importance.

The main focus of PRP's research in the next three years will be on the
political, legal, and philosophical consequences of globalization. We
share theoretical goals and methods in regard to these problems and link
our research interests with innovations in teaching technique.

The PRP doctoral program is defined by academic rigor, true
interdisciplinary analysis, the close integration of course work withe
the dissertation research, and team work. Most course instruction is
held in English.

The Forschungsverbund PRP is now accepting applications for the doctoral
program starting in November 1999. Requirements are:

(1) Superior academic ability and potential.
(2) An interesting proposal that can be integrated into the PRP research
program.
(3) Basic German language skills. =

We would be grateful for your bringing this program to the attention of
potential applicants in your department.

Sincerely,

The PRP-Faculty
