Presentation of this Special Session of the ISA World Congress
of Sociology with representatives from the USA, Canada, Great
Britain, Germany, the Netherlands and France. These persons have
been instrumental in setting up some of the first professional
sociological web sites, electronic journals ("Sociological Research
Online", "Solaris", "Bulletin de Methodologie Sociologique"),
and extensive sociological research resources (the Dutch Social
Research Methodology Documentation Centre, the British Question
Bank, the German Social Science Information Center, the Canadian
"Wired Suburb" Project, the French BMS-RC33 Listserv).
