The Department of Sociology at the State University of New York at
Binghamton invites applications for two tenure track positions at the
Assistant Professor level beginning Fall 1998. It is possible that
administrative approval might be granted to fill the first position at a
higher rank if a scholar with a sufficiently strong record of funded
research were to apply. Applications from minorities and women are

For the first position we are seeking a strong, accomplished scholar
specializing in gender studies with an emphasis on race and/or ethnicity
and strong competence in methods and/or theory. Ph.D. in hand by
