Dear Richard and All,

You are different from me, my first son is different from my
second son, my wife's family is (collectively) different from my mother's
family, women are different from men, adults are different from children,
Americans are different from Tibetans, persons of predominantly African
descent are different from persons of predominantly Maori descent,
diversity means difference, and anybody who calls you a racist because you
may have biological, cultural, and experiential evidence of differences
between individuals and groups of people is guilty of--to embroider on
Orwell--Unthink. As you say, Richard, this is a channel for people with a
professional interest in social science. It is not [regrettably] a
channel for activists. It should certainly not be a channel for the
indignant propagation of "politically correct" pieties. I agree with
everything you say in today's post. No one ever got past an obstacle in
her/his path by pretending it wasn't there.
