Personally, I think that a good case could be made that China IS the Evil
Empire, and that a little world-system integration might be a good thing
for the billion or however many people now live there.
As for consensual/coercive domination - even a second-rate economy like
China's seemingly is able to generate enough cash flow to buy out the U.S.
Presidency. The big companies may run the world, but let's not be so
chauvinistic as to assume that they're OUR big companies (apologies to the
non-Americans).
