Gunder franks responds by 'popular' request [of 2 and 1/2 respondents,
among them Blaut] on what the reservations are on my otherwise secdonging
of what Blaut said about Sandersons review of Blaut:
1. the feudalism bullshit. a curse on both their seignoral houses!
2. the geographical proximity argument, in re Africa/Europe/Asia,
or at least the amoung of weight Jim puts on that, which as to Steve rings
soo so to me.
This is NOT to be confused with their OTHER argument about AFrica/Europe
and Steve's saying that Jims position is "absurd", which I think it is
NOT absurd at all. Howver, both leave out of the drama the prince of
Denmark, which was most of Asia - an not just Japan on which Steve
focuses. of course that statement of mine only dimly reflects what i have
been saying on tis net andelsewhere for some time, and spell out in my
ASIAN AGE book.
so there.
