WSN,
I am new to this list and am currently 'finding my ground'. I'm
wondering if anyone can help me with (or wants to initiate discussion
about) some work I am doing on the 'global company'.

My general argument is that transnational corporate culture (the
company's self description/publicity/philosophy) is related to, but not
congruent with behaviour and that culture is a misdirected method to
simplify the complex and at times nasty methods of actual operation.
Accordingly the concept of the global company is problematised in that
cultural explanations for globality are unreal...Exploitation is becoming
global and can be viewed on a global scale but, in essence, the globality
of a company ( as they would define it) is questionable.

I would much appreciate any thoughts on the matter as well as any
correspondence with others regarding the transnational Asea Brown Boveri.
Thank you very much.
