It's worth remembering that the United States provided Hamas with money in an effort to undercut Arafat's authority.   Hamas may have then used that money to commit acts of violence against the Israeli occupation which may have then resulted in the so called justification of attacks by the Israeli Occupation Forces against PA targets... That a US diplomatic convoy was attacked is really of no consequence.  The US position has been pro-Israel from the get go.  The American Ambassador in Israel is a self-proclaimed Zionist and many an American politician cow-tows to AIPAC.  Given the thousands of Palestinians homes that have been systematically destroyed, the hundreds of villages that have been wiped out,  and the thousands of lives that have been cut short,  one diplomatic vehicle being blown up is really no big whoop. The Palestinians have seen plenty of vehicles blown up, fired upon and smashed flat by Israeli tanks while the occupants scrambled to get out.
