upper classes on periphery countries

Dear wsn colleagues:

I´m starting a research project about natural
resources exploitation in Bolivia and core-periphery
relations, along the 20th century.  I need to describe
the upper class formation and thir role in the process
of de-capitalization of the bolivian economy.  Can
anyone give me a hint on hou to start the class
analysis?
