For 2002 the Political Economy of the World-System section of the American 
Sociological association is 
making awards for best book and for best article.  The dissertation award will 
be made in 2003.  
[any nomination received for 2001 for articles have been held over for the 
2002 award].

BOOK AWARD:
Any book on global, international, or comparative sociology concerned with the 
relationship between domestic and
global social, economic, and political processes is eligible. The book must be 
in English or made available to the
nominating committee in an authorized English translation. Anyone may nominate 
a book, regardless of discipline,
section, or ASA affiliation of either the author or nominator. 
Self-nominations are welcome. Letters should include
complete publication information. Eligible for the annual award are books 
published in the previous three
calendar years [1999, 2000, 2001]
