The comparisons with Hitler cut both ways--its hardly a radical reading of 
history these days to acknowledge that the allies insistence on punishing 
Germany at Versaille helped create the conditions for Hitler's rise, and that 
lasting peace in Europe was secured following WWII because Germany was 
invited into the fold of core countries.  Any lessons for today?  hmmm...
