It seems to be that the US is planning to bomb Afghanistan, already in a
devastated condition, back to  the pre-glacial age. My guess is that Bush is
going to carpet bomb, even use limited nuclear weapons, to destroy
Afghanistan. This will be done in a way that has never be done before as a
warning to the other states. Having done that they may then deploy ground
troops in Afghanistan. Given the fact that the Israeli state virtually has
had a free hand to thrash the Palestinians with little international
opposition either from other states or from the radical left and the masses
it is quite probable that Bush will be able to do this without any
challenging opposition emerging. After all they have been able to attack
Iraq etc with virtually no opposition.

If this does happen it will mean that imperialism will have escalated its
aggression to a new level that may even supersede its past aggression in
South East Asia. Its ability to do this will mean it will be prepared to
engage in more aggression again and again. Its relative freedom to do this
will further enhance Washington's self confidence in the way that Hitler
incremental successes did in the 1930s and 1940s.

It is imperative that that a principled revolutionary opposition to the
aggressive actions be mounted through the organisation of rallies, marches,
strikes and occupations. These activities must be organised on the basis of
an attack on the capitalist state.
