I am not looking for a new "theory". I am simply trying to educate
young activists and scholars in how to apply Marxism. My mailing list
has over 350 subscribers, mostly activists on the front lines. The
website associated with the list gets over 30,000 hits a month. My
intention is to build up this space as a premier location for
nondogmatic and nonsectarian Marxism on the Internet. Generally I
avoid quarrelling with postmodernist fakes like Zizek, Hardt and
Negri but the amount of hype associated with "Empire" deserved a
response. Mostly what I write about deals with very specific issues
in the class struggle such as airline deregulation, guerrilla war in
Colombia, organizational problems of the Marxist movement, etc. I
leave the task of improving on Marxist theory to others more
presumptuous than myself.
